Understanding What Jesus Said about the End Times
Have you ever been confused by Jesus’s teaching about the end times in Matthew 24–25, not understanding the order of events? Look no further than Jesus and the End Times by Ron Rhodes.
I found his book to be very helpful. In addition to Matthew 24–25, Mr. Rhodes also discusses Jesus’s prophetic teachings throughout the gospels, including each of His parables that relate to the end times. Chapters in the book cover the Rapture, the Tribulation Period, the Judgments, the Second Coming of Christ, and more. The book concludes by focusing on Jesus’s messages to the seven churches in Revelation and the lessons we can learn from them.
Ron Rhodes has researched his subject well. This is one of many books that he has written about the end times. He references Bible verses from the Old and New Testaments for further study by the reader. He gives insight into passages that I thought I understood.
I have always heard preachers say that the verses about “one will be taken and the other left,” refers to the rapture. Christians are “taken” in the rapture. On pages 28–29, Ron Rhodes states that these verses take place at the second coming of Jesus Christ. Using a cross-reference in Luke 17:35-37, he concludes that the ones “taken” are killed by the judgment of God. The ones “left” will continue into the millennial reign of Christ.
I always enjoy reading books by Ron Rhodes. He states other viewpoints where Christians have different opinions. When he does have a definite opinion, his conclusions are based on Scripture.
