Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
— Psalm 100:3

Christ Is the Theme

“The Unfolding Mystery” will take you from Genesis to Malachi, showing you the central theme of Jesus Christ throughout the Old Testament. God’s Son, Jesus, is seen in the stories of Adam, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Solomon, Elijah, and others.

The author explains that when God told Moses to strike the rock at Horeb, God was taking the Israelites’ punishment (they had tested God) on Himself. This points to Jesus Christ’s taking our sins on Himself at the cross.

David represents the Messiah as the Suffering Servant and the royal warrior. Solomon represents the Messiah as the Prince of Peace.

Edmund Clowney was a pastor, educator, and theologian. He wrote several books and was one of the greatest influences in Timothy Keller’s life.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It showed me a deeper meaning to several Bible passages that I had not seen before.
