Gripping Stories, Rich with Spiritual Content

I have reviewed this series of books before, but they are well worth reviewing again. A Father’s Love series by Jean Defreese Moore is a fascinating and gripping American historical fiction series. There are five books (so far). The first book begins just before the American Civil War, and the series continues through the early 1900s. It chronicles the history of Travis Britt, his children, and grandchildren. Travis is a strong man both physically and spiritually. His close relationship with God sustains him through many trials and troubles.

The characters regularly quote Bible verses (references are given) and listen to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. The books are full of spiritual truths. They will inspire you to memorize more Bible verses and truly make them a part of your life.

All the books in this series are well written. With plenty of action, danger, and adventure, the stories are engaging as the characters face the evils of mankind. Once you start reading, Travis and his family will become old friends, the action will keep you turning pages, and you will not want the story to end. The pacing of the books is great, and the chapters flow smoothly. You will have a hard time finding a stopping point because you will want to keep reading to see what happens next.

I highly recommend reading the series in order since the story continues from one book to the next. You will understand the Britt family history better that way. Once you read the first book, you will want to read the others. They will bless you and are well worth the read!
