Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

A Heartfelt Reflection of a Beloved Evangelist

Through My Father’s Eyes is a heartfelt reflection by Franklin Graham of the things that he learned from his father, Billy Graham. It is not a biography of Billy Graham, but Franklin does talk about different aspects of his father’s life and ministry of preaching the gospel to the world.

Franklin recounts his memories of his parents, their prayers for him, and their words and actions that shaped and guided his life.

The book emphasizes the importance of prayer and speaking God’s Word. “The Bible says . . .” was a favorite phrase of Rev. Graham.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) used the different mediums (radio, television, the internet, etc.) as they became available to reach the world for Jesus Christ.

As Rev. Graham aged, he no longer had the strength to stand and preach. Ways were devised for him to continue his ministry. For example, for “My Hope America” with Billy Graham, a videographer came to Rev. Graham’s house and taped his message from his living room in several sessions.

The book talks about the building of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina. The library points people to Jesus rather than to Billy Graham.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is a nice glimpse of the lives of Billy Graham, Ruth Bell Graham, and Franklin Graham. The emphasis is on spreading the good news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for the sins of the world and rose victorious over death that we might have eternal life in Him.
